NIGHTRAGE Guitarist Checks In From Finland
November 22, 2006Guitarist/songwriter Marios Iliopoulos of the Swedish/Greek melodic death metal outfit NIGHTRAGE, which is currently touring Scandinavia with VADER and BLOODTHORN, has issued the following update:
"We are in Oulu, Finland tonight and the tour going really cool and smooth so far. We have quality time with the guys from VADER and BLOODTHORN. We introduce also a new song in our setlist named 'Encircle' and people seem to like it a lot.
"We are looking forward to record the new album starting on the 30th of November at Jacob Hansen studios [in Ribe, Denmark]. We actually met Jacob at our first show on the tour and he is a really cool and nice guy to be with. So we are going to have a blast recording with him the new album."
NIGHTRAGE is once again utilizing the services of Pierre Lysell from the Swedish band NONE as the second guitarist for its tour with VADER. The band also recently announced the addition of drummer Alex Svenningson (ex-MINDFALL) to its ranks. "He came in the studio and he really nailed down our songs," said Iliopoulos. "He is a great guy and a suberb musician."
NIGHTRAGE's new album is tentatively due in early 2007 via Lifeforce Records. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Spiral", "Reconcile", "Encircle", and "Scathing". "We are pretty satisfied with the material and we are looking forward to go to the studio and make a killer album," said Marios.
